Located on the busy Sturt Highway, just a short distance from the picturesque banks of the Murray River, The Cliffs Roadhouse opened in December 2025, offering travellers, truck drivers, and locals alike a comfortable and welcoming place to rest, refuel, and recharge.
This brand-new establishment is more than just a service centre — it has been designed as a true highway destination. The site features a comprehensive convenience offering and quality fuel services, alongside an elevated roadhouse-style restaurant with a five-star chef, that delivers a fresh take on traditional highway dining. The Cliffs Roadhouse — A True Highway Destination
As a newly opened site, our focus has been on creating simple, value-driven offers that resonate with both locals and passing traffic. One of our strongest performers has been the Truckies Roast — a rotating weekly meal offered at a value price — which has been extremely well received, as well as a breakfast promotion featuring bacon and egg roll with a coffee driving morning trade and repeat visits.
We have also introduced a “Taste of the Region” section, showcasing local produce such as nuts, dressings, oils, jams, and other specialty items. This has proven popular with both visitors and locals and helps reinforce a strong connection with the local community.
Given our location adjacent to a holiday park and on a main highway, just a short drive from town, we have placed strong emphasis on offering a comprehensive convenience range. Ensuring everyday essentials are always available — from fresh deli items such as eggs, milk, and bread through to key grocery and cooking staples — has been critical in capturing both planned and impulse purchases.
We believe the key difference has been the strength of our overall convenience and food offering. The combination of a fresh “baked on site” range, a full commercial kitchen, and an integrated restaurant area is driving repeat visits and higher basket spend, while also lifting complementary convenience and impulse categories. Creating a destination rather than just a stop has been critical to this early success.
With The Cliffs being TASCO’s first greenfield site, bringing the store from concept to opening could have been a daunting task. New Sunrise played a critical role in ensuring the site was set up for success from day one.
The guidance and hands-on support from Cam, Jayesh, Gav, and the wider team across range development, store layout, supplier engagement, and implementation was invaluable. Their experience and collaborative approach helped bring the site together seamlessly and gave us confidence throughout the entire process, setting a strong foundation for ongoing performance.
As a newly opened site, customers consistently comment on the openness and sense of space throughout the store, which creates a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience. This is complemented by our strong in-store offers, particularly across food and convenience, which reinforce the sense of quality, freshness, and ease.
