New Sunrise and Sunrise Local Store Launches “Shocktober” To Support Heart of The Nation
New Sunrise and Sunrise Local Stores are passionate about making a difference in our communities. This October, we are excited to launch our annual “Shocktober” campaign to support Heart of the Nation in raising awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of having AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) in the community.
Now in its fourth year, our campaign continues our ongoing support for Heart of the Nation and amplifies the life-saving message of ‘Call, Push, Shock’—the three essential steps everyone should know when responding to a cardiac emergency.
About Heart of the Nation
Heart of the Nation was founded by Greg Page, the original Yellow Wiggle, after his own terrifying experience with sudden cardiac arrest in January 2020. Thanks to the quick actions of an off-duty nurse and the use of a nearby AED, Greg’s life was saved. With survival rates for cardiac arrest as low as 10%, he has since dedicated himself to making AEDs more accessible and visible in communities across Australia.

10c Per Product Purchased will be Donated to Heart of the Nation
Throughout October, with the support of our supplier partners, we’ll donate 10 cents from every participating product purchased across our New Sunrise and Sunrise Local Stores network to Heart of the Nation. We aim to raise over $250,000 and reach more than 20 million Australians. This initiative is about raising funds and empowering people with the knowledge that early access to an AED can increase survival chances by up to 75%.
